      1. About Us

        Company info

Barefootleather.co.uk was established in 1972, based in Seaford, East Sussex

        50 York Road, Bromyard, Herefordshire HR7 4BG                                                Tel: +44 (0) 1885 488993

More than 40 years of leatherworking:

During  the 1970s, Ray Hatley opened  four hand-crafted leather shops in Sussex, UK. Working with some amazing friends and family, making bags, belts and a huge assortment of hand-tooled and carved leathergoods, Ray developed many of the patterns and designs that are still in production today. Now, more than 40 years later Barefoot Leather is based in Bromyard, Herefordshire.  Although Ray doesn't have a 'bricks and mortar' shop any more (but watch this space!) he still makes and supplies top quality hand-made leathergoods to customers all over the world through this web site. For more information see the Barefoot Blog

The Sussex team included: Justin Middleton (bless him!), Bruce (I've hit my finger again) George, Mark Cox,  'Red Phil' Cowles, Pete Stonehouse, Vernon Kerr, Phil Day, Andrew (dog food) Williams and many, many more - thanks guys - just remember, it was all part of growing up and being British!

        Our environment is precious!

I firmly believe in minimising my impact on the environment and try to reduce the use of paper; preferring to use electronic documents where possible. The only printed document you will receive from me is an invoice/delivery note tucked inside your package. I use clean recycled packaging whenever possible.
